Facilities Technician II - WRMC

Job Summary
Develop work plans and schedules to provide skilled maintenance, installation, and fabrication tasks in assigned trades including electrician, plumbing, HVAC, construction, and carpentry. Establish and follow a preventative maintenance schedule for equipment while inspecting and cleaning tools after use. Maintain appropriate records, write reports, and prepare correspondence as assigned. Order and maintain supplies according to established City and departmental procedures. Provide technical support to assigned supervisory personnel and perform other duties as assigned. Work 100% on-site at the Will Rogers Memorial Center, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Lift up to 50 lbs, with sporadic assistance up to 100 lbs, while working in environments with fluctuating temperatures, high noise levels, and exposure to animals.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum high school graduate or GED
- Minimum of 3+ years of verifiable assigned trade skills and capabilities
- Must have a state of Texas motor vehicle license
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 100 lbs or more sporadically
- Ability to reach, lift, and bend to perform job duties throughout the shift
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, guests, and team members
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external parties
- Provide Superior customer service experience
- Must be able to work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures
- Must be able to regularly work around animals typically found in a fair/4H/FFA environment
- Must be able to regularly spend their shift standing/walking, traveling stairs, with limited to no sitting
- Must be able to be exposed to high noise levels and/or fluctuating lights in event settings
- Must be able to be exposed to hazardous chemicals, electrical shock risks, and vibrations throughout the shift
- Must be able to be exposed to hazards associated with moving vehicles and require strict adherence to safety protocols
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred to have a minimum of 2+ years of experience in commercial facility maintenance
- A trade school graduate with specialized training in trade skills and/or a building-related field, which could include HVAC, Electrical, or equivalent work experience
- Other engineering or maintenance certifications are desirable, i.e., ASE Certifications, HVAC, Refrigeration, or Plumbing
- Experience and/or training in the public assembly facility management industry preferred
- Knowledgeable with all applicable laws, codes, ordinances, safety precautions, and emergency procedures related to facility management preferred
- Keyboarding skills and computer proficiency with software knowledge including MS Office preferred
- Experience in operating a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills
