Job Summary
Facilities Technician II responsible for maintaining the physical condition of the property per SOPs, OSHA, and industry standards; performs maintenance and repair, preventive testing for major building systems, and prepares apartments for turnovers while coordinating with vendors and managers. Must excel in a fast-paced, collegiate environment with strong problem-solving and follow-through. Requires experience (3-5 years full-time general maintenance or equivalent), HVAC/EPA 608 certification, CPO or plan to obtain, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel. Responsibilities include monitoring life-safety systems (fire pumps, fire alarm panels, sprinklers, alarms, detectors, emergency lighting, means of egress), coordinating schedules, safeguarding key management protocols, and ensuring timely completion of service requests. The role involves on-call duties and adherence to EEO policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school/GED or trade school diploma
- HVAC certification/EPA 608 certification (Core, Type I, II & III)
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO), or intention to obtain within six months
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Knowledge of key management and security systems
- Knowledge of safety procedures with a safety conscious attitude
- Valid driver’s license
- Demonstrated ability to access computer programs and use or learn basic computer operations related to position requirements (Entrata, CMMS, Building Automation system & Digital Control System)
- Ability and willingness to travel when required
- Ability to stand 8 hours or longer per day and lift up to 100 lbs. as necessary
