Job Summary
Facilities Technician I performing basic electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting of standard electrical control and lower-voltage distribution circuits, and routine upkeep of facility infrastructure. Responsibilities include preventive and predictive maintenance on plant systems, replacing components such as light bulbs and relays, referencing PLC status lights to report errors, logging daily tasks in CMMS, coordinating spare parts via manuals and OEM drawings, and maintaining HVAC equipment, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and access controls. Requires safety-minded approach, use of digital meters to check circuits, and entry-level experience with automated facility equipment; emphasizes teamwork and professional communication.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ongoing pursuit of a technical certificate or active trade school enrollment
- 0 to 1 year of formal vocational exposure or technical experience in a manufacturing environment
- 0 to 1 year of exposure to automated systems (compressed air, building HVAC, or fluid pumps)
- Ability to use basic digital multimeters and read fundamental blueprints
- Core math capabilities for shop measurements and tool sizing
- Strong professional communication, logical problem-solving, and a team-player attitude
