Job Summary
Facilities Technician responsible for the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of the organization’s physical workspace, as well as managing shipping and receiving activities. Performs routine and preventive maintenance on building systems (plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, mechanical), troubleshoots and repairs, and manages technically complex projects with minimal supervision. Conducts facility inspections for safety hazards and improvement opportunities, assists in scheduling and overseeing contractors, and supports office moves, equipment installations, furniture assembly, and workspace reconfigurations. Maintains tools and maintenance areas, promotes workplace safety procedures (lockout/tagout, PPE, hazard reporting), and supports OSHA, fire code compliance, and emergency drills. In Shipping & Receiving, receives, inspects, logs, labels, distributes incoming materials, and prepares outgoing shipments while coordinating with carriers. Requires collaboration with internal teams and external vendors; beneficial familiarity with shipping systems (UPS, FedEx, USPS). Education/experience: Bachelor’s degree in business or Facilities Management (preferred) and 3+ years in related field."
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years working knowledge of facility operations, maintenance, construction projects and real estate/lease administration
- Bachelor’s degree in business or Facilities Management, a plus but not required
- Knowledge of general maintenance procedures and basic proficiency in plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Physical ability to stand, lift, bend, and climb for extended periods; ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Experience in facilities maintenance, warehouse operations, or a related field preferred
