Job Summary
Maintenance Tech 1 is responsible for executing a preventative maintenance program and supporting troubleshooting and repairs of the building’s material handling equipment. The role includes assisting the Operations team with maintenance solutions for complex problems and maintenance projects, safely operating equipment (forklifts, scissor/boom lifts), creating and closing work orders with data on labor, equipment, and parts, and maintaining safety procedures across the Nordstrom facility. The position requires familiarity with conveyors, motor/reducer issues, belt trackers, basic relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components (photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids), servo drives, frequency inverters, and related tools. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience with conveyors, electrical systems, & building maintenance (preferred)
- Knowledge of operation and repair of material handling equipment
- Knowledge of power tools, pneumatic, or hydraulic tools
- Basic knowledge of controls systems & PLC’s (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Move up to 49lbs and operate forklifts, scissor and boom lifts
