Job Summary
Facilities Technician 1 responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing facility and automation equipment at the Dream Fulfillment Center. Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on powered equipment and conveyor systems; services building systems including air compressors, heating/ventilation, plumbing/electrical, and performs welding as needed. Maintains CMMS, work orders, and inventory; coordinates project work and may lead projects; communicates with Facilities Manager and operations teams regarding repair status and operational impact. Requires ability to work independently or with a team, strong written/verbal communication, and flexibility to work overtime, off-shifts, and weekends. Requires 3+ years of related experience and proficiency with conveyor control software, powered equipment operation, drawings/blueprints interpretation, and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of related experience in a similar role
- Proficient use of conveyor control systems software
- Ability to operate all powered equipment in the facility including yard trucks, forklifts, and maintenance vehicles
- Computer proficiency to input work performed, identify work assignments, and use email
- Accurately interpret drawings, blueprints and technical manuals in paper or electronic format
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work overtime, off-shifts and weekend work as needed
- Experience in diagnostic and troubleshooting as well as repairs on mechanical equipment
- Welding repairs as needed
- Electrical control systems and PLCs troubleshooting (preferred)
- MIG and Stick Weld (preferred)
- EPA Technician 608 Certification (Preferred)
- NJ Electrical License (Preferred)
- NJ HVAC License (Preferred)
- Driver's License (Preferred)
- NJ Boiler License (Preferred)
- Ability to use CMMS and manage work orders and inventory
- Understanding of safety policies/procedures such as lockout/tagout
