Job Summary
Conduct condition assessments and coordinate repairs across diverse building portfolios while providing technical advice to the Facilities Technical Manager. Troubleshoot faults, interpret technical drawings, and manage contractor relationships to ensure work meets compliance and performance standards. Support asset management systems and contribute ideas to improve long-term facility reliability and outcomes. This role sits within the Infrastructure and Assets Group, focusing on delivering resilient infrastructure for Hamilton City Council.
Required Qualifications
- Trade or tertiary qualification in building construction, facilities or asset management, programme or project management or electrical/mechanical engineering or other related qualification
- Minimum 5 years' experience in strategic, planned or technical facilities management
- Strong understanding of building infrastructure and compliance requirements
- Experience working with contractors and service providers to establish technical requirements needed for buildings to function
- Proficiency in asset management systems, excel spreadsheets and or technical documentation
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in local government or public sector environments
- Familiarity with sustainability and energy efficiency in technical operations
- Ability to work with external providers to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and understanding of Te Ao Maaori principles in service delivery
