Facilities Technical Manager

Job Summary
Oversee operation, maintenance, and optimization of building systems across the Irish portfolio, conducting regular inspections, preventive maintenance scheduling, and reactive coordination for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and building automation. Lead facilities improvement projects from conception through completion, managing system upgrades, retrofits, and new installations while preparing technical specifications and overseeing contractor relationships. Ensure full compliance with Irish health and safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards by maintaining comprehensive maintenance records, conducting safety audits, and managing statutory inspections. Develop annual maintenance budgets and capital expenditure plans, analyzing operational data to identify cost reduction and performance enhancement opportunities. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 3-5 years of building services engineering experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (mandatory)
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in building services engineering or facilities management
- Comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical systems (HVAC, power distribution, lighting, BMS)
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, specifications, and system documentation
- Thorough knowledge of Irish building regulations and health and safety legislation
- Understanding of energy management principles and sustainability practices
- Familiarity with statutory inspection requirements and certification processes
- Hands-on technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems required
Desired Qualifications
- Professional registration or working toward chartered status with Engineers Ireland (preferred)
- Relevant facilities management certifications (advantageous)
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building management systems (BMS)
- Previous experience in commercial facilities or GMP facilities environment
