Job Summary
Monitor, maintain, and optimize physical facilities including generators, HVAC systems, racks, cabling, and site security to ensure near-perfect uptime. Escort technical operations personnel to monitor uncleared visitors, contractors, or non-badged workers at all times to protect critical national airspace infrastructure. Lead installation, testing, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment such as switches, routers, and fiber-optic cabling while troubleshooting critical DC power systems, rectifiers, and battery backups. This role supports the FAA's Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) contract within the Eastern Service Area.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance
- 8+ years of experience in facilities engineering/management
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Additional 4 years of experience (alternative to degree)
- Strong expertise in HVAC, power distribution, cabling standards, and building infrastructure
- Experience reviewing technical designs and contractor work for compliance with standards
- Knowledge of regulatory and safety frameworks for critical infrastructure
- Background in physical security standards for facilities
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with FAA programs, NAS systems, or air traffic control environments
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or certifications in facility/building management
- Familiarity with sustainable building practices, LEED standards, or energy-efficient systems
- Understanding of project management methodologies and tools
