Facilities Supervisor

Job Summary
Conduct routine inspections of all properties to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, code concerns, and opportunities for improvement. Lead maintenance staff, oversee property conditions, and coordinate outside contractors while personally completing smaller carpentry projects. Communicate regularly with leadership and stakeholders regarding priorities, progress, and unresolved concerns. Obtain estimates and bids to ensure competitive pricing and help develop practical facilities policies and preventive maintenance standards. Travel regularly between Metro Detroit properties, including Commerce Township and Port Huron, using provided company vehicles. Requires five years of experience in general carpentry and facilities supervision with working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of prior professional experience encompassing both general carpentry and facilities supervision of facilities management
- Working knowledge of common building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, doors, locks, and fire protection
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and contractors
- Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing facility-related issues
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadline, with a customer service-oriented mindset and a commitment to excellence in a facility management
- This position requires regular travel between company properties
