Job Summary
Oversee and manage day-to-day operations of roads, grounds, custodial, and maintenance staff to ensure campus facility upkeep. Lead and supervise teams by conducting regular meetings, providing direction, and delivering performance feedback. Plan, schedule, and oversee routine maintenance repairs while monitoring inventory and managing the department budget. Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations by promoting a culture of safety and providing necessary training. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across college facilities while implementing improvements based on operational evaluations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in facilities management, maintenance, or a related field
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Insurability under TSTC Liability Policy
- Strong knowledge of maintenance, custodial, and or groundskeeping practices and procedures
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of building systems, landscaping, and or custodial practices
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and projects

- Lead and supervise the custodial, maintenance, and grounds staff, providing direction, support, and performance feedback
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate objectives, policies, and procedures
- Plan, schedule, and oversee routine maintenance repair work for roads, grounds, and buildings
- Ensure the timely completion of custodial tasks, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across college facilities
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of maintenance operations implementing improvements as needed
- Assist in the development and management of the department budget, ensuring efficient use of resources
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards
- Promote a culture of safety within the team, providing training, and resources to support safe work practices
- Respond promptly to maintenance and custodial requests
- Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a high level of satisfaction
- Complete the federal Employment Eligibility Verification I-9 form
- Present acceptable and original documents to prove your identity and authorization to work in the United States
- Pass a criminal history background check
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in Facilities Management (CFM) or related certification
