Job Summary
Oversee facility operations, maintenance, and grounds for Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists, ensuring a safe, compliant environment for patients and staff. Manage vendor relationships, coordinate inspections, and lead emergency repairs while performing hands-on troubleshooting for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. Direct staff training, maintain CMMS records, and control the department budget to support seamless hospital functions. Work Monday through Friday with 24/7 on-call availability and weekend flexibility.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience in facilities operations, including HVAC systems, construction oversight, and maintenance management
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevator systems, and building automation
- Experience using CMMS platforms to manage and track tasks
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
- Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish/English)
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CMMS software, and reading blueprints/schematics
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements, local/state codes, and healthcare regulatory compliance
- Weekend Availability - Be available to work weekends as needed to support hospital operations and ensure leadership continuity
- This position is on call 24/7
Desired Qualifications
- CFM (Certified Facility Manager) certification preferred
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare facility (veterinary or human healthcare) strongly preferred
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising maintenance and custodial projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to prioritize multiple demands and respond calmly in emergency situations
