Job Summary

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, cold storage, and general structural components across assigned locations in Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, and Iowa. Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, equipment, and critical systems to identify and address issues proactively. Troubleshoot facility issues and respond promptly to maintenance requests, urgent repairs, and emergency situations to minimize downtime. Coordinate and oversee vendors, contractors, and service providers when outside support is required. Maintain accurate maintenance records through preventive maintenance programs, work orders, or CMMS tools as applicable. This role requires frequent regional travel, including 3-4 overnight stays monthly and 3-4 day trips weekly, with the ability to work independently and occasionally stay overnight. Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain any required company-approved driving license or endorsement
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently within an assigned region
  • Ability to stay overnight when business needs require
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or respond to urgent maintenance issues during emergencies
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and walking throughout facilities and grounds
  • 3–5 years of experience in commercial facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or facility systems

Desired Qualifications

  • Technical or trade school certification in facilities maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or a related field
  • OSHA certification or other safety training
  • General knowledge of HVAC systems, including systems used in temperature-controlled storage or cold storage units
  • Basic understanding of electrical practices and facility-related plumbing systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS or work order systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA standards and environmental considerations
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage workload across multiple sites independently
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience supporting multiple facilities or working in a regional maintenance role
  • Experience in agricultural, seed production, manufacturing, warehouse, or temperature-controlled storage environments
  • Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, or service providers
