Job Summary
Manage the EGS contract with the Department of Energy at the Germantown, Maryland location, overseeing all operations and maintenance efforts, daily site activities, and reimbursable projects. Direct contract functions between EGS and the Department of Energy, including planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling operations while supervising new construction, remodeling, and facility repairs. Administer subcontracts for facilities work, negotiate and bid on IDIQ construction and renovation contracts, and control operational expenses consistent with contractual requirements. Maintain liaison with architects, engineers, and contractors, ensure proper upkeep of heating, ventilation, and grounds, and submit written proposals and scopes of work. Maintain sufficient records and procedures to ensure management and work production while advising Facilities Staff on physical plant matters.
Required Qualifications
- BS Engineering
- Professional Engineering License
- Q Clearance
- 5 years of experience in facilities operations or maintenance of buildings greater than 500,000 square feet
- Experience with CMMS software
- Strong experience with Windows and MS Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated skill in developing and nurturing client relationships
- Basic knowledge of major facilities systems, office administration, plant management, reporting, budgeting and control and business operations, blueprints, buildings, grounds, equipment, housekeeping, construction, repair, maintenance purchasing, inventory control, fire, safety management, BOCS and OSHA training
- Ability to submit written proposals, scopes of work, schedule and coordinate site contractors and other assigned personnel
- Thorough understanding of preventive maintenance schedules
- Ability to plan, organize, coordinate aspects of physical plant activities
- Ability to work with the customer to find amiable solutions to difficult issues
- Ability to work with Management Systems and a variety of skilled/unskilled, professional, administrative and industry personnel
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Willingness to seek training
