Job Summary
Facilities Professional responsible for day-to-day cleaning and maintenance of West Suburban YMCA facilities, including mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, pool cleaning, lawn care, snow removal, and event setup. Must be able to work varied hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays; requires a valid driver’s license. Demonstrates commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Will operate cleaning equipment and potentially hazardous materials, follow safety protocols (OSHA), and report repairs. Provides a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for members; participates in maintenance of both physical spaces and pool areas; supports facility events and general upkeep. Certifications CPR/AED and First Aid required within 30 days of hire; OSHA trainings also required. Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and customer-service skills; ability to relate effectively to diverse groups. Physical ability to perform essential duties including climbing ladders up to 30 feet, handling cleaning chemicals, and physical tasks associated with maintenance and cleaning.
Required Qualifications
- Six months or more of related experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
- Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED, and First Aid. OSHA required trainings.
- Valid Driver License.
