Job Summary
Skilled, journey-level plumbing professional responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial plumbing fixtures and systems. Duties include maintaining and repairing water, gas, air, storm and sewer lines; servicing plumbing equipment such as water heaters, sinks, dishwashers, backflow preventers, and related components; reading blueprints and schematics; developing materials specifications for plumbing projects; supervising and coordinating with other technicians and contractors; maintaining records and inventories; and participating in snow removal and other airport-wide maintenance tasks. Requires graduation from high school or equivalent, completion of a plumbing apprenticeship, three years of journey-level experience, Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester certification (or ability to obtain within one year), and a valid driver's license. Must be able to work day, swing, and night shifts, with shift differential on non-day shifts; physical stamina and adherence to safety protocols are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program
- Three (3) years of journey-level plumbing experience in an industrial/commercial environment
- Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester certificate, or ability to obtain within one year from date of hire
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to meet physical demands (lifting up to 75 lbs, work in all weather, PPE use)
- Experience with maintaining, inspecting, and repairing plumbing systems
