Job Summary
The Facilities Planner 2 role plans utilization of space and facilities in alignment with organizational efficiency, directs and manages all phases of equipment and machinery maintenance, facilities modification and building projects from concept through implementation, defines project requirements, negotiates contracts and changes, establishes operating budgets, and identifies financial terms/conditions. Acts as primary contact for facilities and equipment maintenance and leads reviews of cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes milestones and monitors master plans, budgets, and schedules; identifies problems and develops solutions such as resource allocation or scope changes. May coordinate the work of assigned project staff. This position is for the 2nd shift and located at Newport News Shipbuilding.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with 3 years of exempt experience; Master’s Degree with 1 year of experience; equivalent combinations as listed in posting; 2nd shift role; US citizenship; no relocation; 2nd shift; no travel; no clearance required; experience in planning, budgeting, and project management within facilities/shipbuilding context; ability to coordinate multiple projects and teams; contract negotiation and milestone tracking; familiarity with cost/schedule/technical performance reviews; strong communication as primary contact for facilities and equipment maintenance.
