Job Summary
Facilities Mechanic responsible for repairs and maintenance of VOA Upstate NY properties (Binghamton, Ithaca, Rochester). Performs HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry tasks, completes work orders and preventive maintenance, coordinates with vendors, maintains tools, inventories, and safety/SDS records, supports building inspections, onsite training of staff, on-call weekends, and potential travel to Binghamton and Ithaca. Requires 2 years facility experience, 1-2 years in plumbing/electrical/carpentry/HVAC, strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook), ability to pass background check, valid NY driver’s license, and knowledge of cleaning chemicals/SDS; physical and environmental demands typical of a maintenance role.
Required Qualifications
- Two years’ experience within a facility role
- 1-2 years experience in Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry and HVAC Repairs
- Strong computer skills with Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to pass a federal background check
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and SDS regulations
- A valid NYS driver’s license required
