Job Summary
Oversee facility maintenance, operation, and improvement while ensuring physical infrastructure remains safe, efficient, and aligned with organizational needs. Manage building systems, coordinate maintenance activities, supervise contractors and staff, and drive sustainability and cost-efficiency initiatives. Strategize on facility upgrades, repairs, and renovations; design department policies; and coordinate space allocation and layout changes. Address operational challenges and emergencies promptly, maintain contractor databases, and analyze costs for optimal value. Lead teams across various responsibilities, including front-of-house reception, while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and local building codes. Operate on a rotating shift pattern covering Monday to Friday and Tuesday to Saturday, with weekend and holiday coverage as required.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working within a Facility Management role
- Strong knowledge and/or understanding of manufacturing and/or engineering
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Approachable with the ability to liaise with people of all levels
- Provide guidance and foster a collaborative work environment
- Proficient with facilities management software tools
- Understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems)
- Understanding of building management systems (BMS) and smart building technologies
- Familiarity with energy efficiency practices and sustainability initiatives
- Interpersonal, relationship-building and networking skills
- Procurement and negotiation skills
- The ability to multitask and prioritise your workload
- Excellent time management skills
- A practical, flexible and innovative approach to work
- Understanding of local building codes, health and safety regulations
- ISO qualifications
