Job Summary
The Facilities Manager will lead and manage staff, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and performance standards. Key responsibilities include supervising maintenance operations, conducting staff training, organizing maintenance requests, and managing capital improvement projects. Essential qualifications encompass a high school degree, extensive experience in building maintenance, supervisory experience, strong skills in various maintenance areas, and a valid driver’s license. The role demands excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, alongside the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in professional building maintenance or a related construction field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience training and supervising maintenance staff
- Excellent skills in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and painting
- Knowledge of janitorial practices and procedures, including sanitation
- Demonstrated knowledge of fire-safety and building codes
- Valid California Driver’s License and good driving record
- Ability to drive a 17’ van/truck
- Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to produce and analyze reports, and write business correspondence
- Ability to communicate clearly to a broad range of people
- Ability to read, understand, and apply language from manuals, policies, technical procedures, and instructions
- Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in conflict resolution
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Must read, communicate orally, and write in English
- Ability to manage multiple projects with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines with excellent attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with diverse, low-income, homeless and/or formerly homeless population
- Experience working in non-profit or public sector
