Facilities Manager

Job Summary
Oversee facility maintenance, vendor management, space planning projects, and employee experience by leading the Facilities team, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, and managing service requests against SLAs. Negotiate service contracts, prepare RFPs, and monitor vendor quality while preparing and managing operating budgets to identify cost optimization opportunities. Plan renovations, relocations, and workplace optimization projects ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines, while ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety standards and building codes. Manage assets, equipment, and inventories, coordinate emergency responses, and track KPIs to recommend continuous improvement initiatives using SAP (Altair) and facility management systems. Demonstrate flexibility for non-standard hours, VIP support, and occasional local or out-of-area travel.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar role
- College diploma (DEC) in Operations Management, Building Engineering, Architectural Technology, Building Mechanics, or a related field, or a relevant university degree (Bachelor's degree)
- Strong communication skills in French and working knowledge of English, both spoken and written
- Excellent planning, organizational, and priority management skills
- Strong budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control capabilities
- Excellent negotiation, contract management, and vendor management skills
- Proven ability to effectively resolve technical and operational issues
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, combined with a strong customer service orientation
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach, and develop a team
- Good knowledge of occupational health and safety standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of asset management principles and preventive maintenance practices
- Must also be flexible and be available to work non-standard business hours upon request or as needed
- Must be available via cell phone for VIP support
- Local travel between sites may be required
- Occasional travel to sites outside the local area may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Occupational Health and Safety training is considered an asset
- Workplace First Aid certification is considered an asset
- Fire prevention and emergency response training is considered an asset
- Experience with SAP (Altair) or other facility management systems is considered an asset
