Job Summary
Oversee the reliable and safe operation of the New Zealand Embassy Moscow properties and lead maintenance and asset management planning. Collaborate with asset management staff in Wellington and external service providers to deliver maintenance programmes, support security and IT systems, and manage capital investment projects. Provide facility management expertise to identify and implement maintenance requirements, monitor performance, resolve technical issues, and ensure operational objectives are met. Requires a technical all-rounder with strong communication skills, able to work effectively with local trades and embassies in a foreign-language context; offshore assignment with special provisions.
Required Qualifications
- Trade qualification in construction, engineering (mechanical or electrical) or other technical discipline
- High level of technical expertise with at least 5 years relevant industry experience in commercial or residential building services installation
- Experience in asset management, maintenance and replacement programmes
- Experience managing risk management and asset lifecycle management
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (including Teams) and cloud platforms
- Experience developing asset management and facility maintenance plans
- Commercial acumen and understanding of contracts and their implications
- Familiarity with Government procurement guidelines
- Current Drivers Licence
- Ability to work offshore and in a foreign language context
- Understanding of tikanga and Māori customs (preferred)
- NZ citizenship
- Top Secret security clearance eligibility
- Ability to obtain and maintain health clearances as required for offshore posting
- Willingness to travel and support embassy operations in Moscow
- English as working language (Russian language proficiency is an advantage)
