Job Summary
Oversee daily maintenance operations, repairs, and preventive maintenance programs to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of all buildings, grounds, and equipment. Manage maintenance staff, vendors, and contractors while responding to emergency maintenance issues and participating in on-call responsibilities as needed. Lead the team in ensuring compliance with life safety, OSHA, IDPH, and other regulatory requirements, including overseeing capital improvement projects and department budgets. This role supports Cantata Adult Life Services' mission to enrich the lives of older adults through exceptional care on its 10-acre Brookfield campus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, life safety, and general maintenance
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs, vendor management, budgeting, and capital improvement projects
- Knowledge of OSHA, fire and life safety regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform the physical demands associated with facility maintenance, including walking, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, senior living, hospitality, or commercial facilities
- Experience with IDPH, CMS, or long-term care regulations
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or similar software
