Job Summary
Direct operation, maintenance, and performance of all engineering systems including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety while developing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies. Provide technical oversight for major repairs, system upgrades, commissioning, and capital projects; lead root-cause analysis for equipment failures. Manage engineering team leadership, vendor performance, and contract services ensuring scope alignment and SLA compliance. Forecast engineering budgets, manage capital investment plans, and produce comprehensive monthly and annual engineering reports. Ensure compliance with all codes, safety regulations, and emergency response protocols while maintaining accurate CMMS documentation. On-site in Detroit, MI. Requires 10+ years of progressive engineering or facilities operations experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or equivalent technical discipline
- 10+ years of progressive engineering, building systems, or facilities operations experience, including supervisory responsibility
- Expertise in HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and building automation systems
- Strong understanding of CMMS platforms, asset management programs, and reliability-centered maintenance
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple sites and complex environments
- Proven experience managing budgets, capital programs, vendors, and service contracts
- Excellent communication, client engagement, and stakeholder management skills
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

- Professional certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Building Operations Management (FMA), or equivalent credentials
