Job Summary
Facilities Manager North oversees comprehensive facility, operational, and physical infrastructure management across five GDH sites (Montgomery, Birmingham, Huntsville, Alexandria LA, and Jackson MS). Responsible for safety, code compliance, preventive maintenance, vendor management, and continuous improvement of warehouse floors, office spaces, grounds, and supporting systems. Partners with GMs, Operations Managers, and Building Systems Manager to establish facility standards, manage capital needs, and ensure regulatory adherence. Leads HVAC, electrical, plumbing, ADA compliance, access control, security camera operations, environmental compliance, lighting upgrades, and grounds maintenance; maintains pest control and ensures emergency readiness. Requires 5+ years of progressive facilities/operations experience, multi-site management, and willingness to travel; preferred Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Engineering, Logistics, or related field. Must be able to pass background check, MVR, and drug screen.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in facilities management, operations management, or a combination thereof; multi-site management experience in a distribution, logistics, or beverage industry environment strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Engineering, Logistics, or related field
- Demonstrated experience managing facility vendors and service contracts across multiple locations
- Knowledge of building systems, life safety systems (fire suppression, alarm), OSHA standards, EPA environmental compliance, and local building codes
- Experience with preventive maintenance program development and facility inspection protocols
- Knowledge of transportation management and operations software; VIP or similar package preferred
- Strong organizational skills, ability to manage concurrent priorities across geographically dispersed facilities
- Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and willingness to travel regularly across the North Region
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage budgets, bids, and capital expenditure requests
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to pass background check, MVR, and drug screen
