Job Summary
The Strategic Operations Facilities Manager – North is responsible for comprehensive management of facility, operational, and physical infrastructure across five Gulf Distributing Holdings sites (Montgomery, Birmingham, Huntsville, Alexandria, and Jackson, MS). Partners with senior operations leaders to uphold facility cleanliness, safety, code compliance, preventive maintenance, vendor management, and continuous improvement. Oversees warehouse and office facilities, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, ADA compliance, landscaping, security systems, fire suppression and life-safety, environmental compliance, capital projects, and multi-site vendor contracts. Requires travel across the North Region and leadership of cross-site facilities teams; emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance (OSHA, NFPA, EPA), PM planning, budget and contract management, and strong stakeholder collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Engineering, Logistics, or another industry-related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in facilities management, operations management, or a combination thereof; multi-site management experience in a distribution, logistics, or beverage industry environment strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing facility vendors and service contracts across multiple locations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pest control, janitorial, and landscaping
- Working knowledge of building systems, life safety systems (fire suppression, alarm), OSHA physical facility standards, EPA environmental compliance, and local building code requirements
- Experience with preventive maintenance program development and facility inspection protocols
- Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with transportation management and operations software; prior use of VIP or similar package preferred
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing concurrent priorities across geographically dispersed facilities with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license in state of residence, current auto insurance, and willingness to travel regularly across the North Region. Must be able to pass a background check, MVR, and drug screen
- Demonstrated ability to work with internal and external stakeholders including vendors, contractors, GMs, and executive leadership
- Excellent communication skills across in-person, phone, and electronic media
- Ability to build and maintain strong vendor and contractor relationships across multiple markets
- Experience in budget management, bids, and capital expenditure requests
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously across five locations
