Job Summary
Facilities Manager role overseeing daily maintenance operations for a detention facility in Surprise, AZ. Responsible for overseeing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, structural, and security system maintenance; supervising maintenance staff, contractors, and support personnel; coordinating preventative maintenance schedules and repair projects; conducting facility inspections to identify deficiencies and safety hazards; coordinating emergency repairs and troubleshooting to minimize disruptions; monitoring building systems for safety and compliance with detention standards and OSHA; maintaining inventory and coordinating procurement; reviewing work orders and documentation; coordinating vendor services and facility improvement projects; supporting audits and regulatory reviews; ensuring adherence to safety, security procedures, and company policies; preparing operational reports and budget-related information for leadership review.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in facility management, operations, or maintenance engineering
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations applicable to large-scale physical plants and building maintenance
- Ability to maintain emotional control and professional communication in a secure detention facility
- Proof of citizenship or legal US work authorization
- DD214(s) if prior active-duty military
- Consent to fingerprinting
- At least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean criminal record and ability to pass background check and security screening
- Ability to pass preemployment medical assessment and drug screening
- Excellent communication, observation, and report-writing skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
- Ability to manage safety, security, and operational readiness in detention environment
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Ability to coordinate maintenance, contractor services, and audits
