Job Summary
Facility-focused leadership role overseeing a Facilities department across US sites, including maintenance, electrical/plumbing/mechanical systems, equipment upkeep, vendor coordination, budgeting, and collaboration with department managers. Responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining rolling stock and production machinery, developing preventive maintenance programs, coordinating with purchasing and finance for budgets, and coaching/developing staff. Requires 5+ years in maintenance/construction/facilities within manufacturing, plus 2+ years in supervision, strong reading of blueprints/diagrams, budgeting experience, and effective cross-functional communication. Based in Lowell, Oregon with in-house and vendor-enabled maintenance activities, and a focus on safety, reliability, and uptime across nursery facilities and equipment.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a maintenance, construction, or facilities role in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 2+ years in a supervisory or management position
- ability to install, inspect, repair and maintain electrical, plumbing and other systems
- knowledge of heating and cooling systems preferred
- read instructions, blueprints, diagrams, sketches and specification books
- strong computer skills (Outlook, Word and Excel)
- experience budgeting and expense management
- effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees, managers, internal customers, vendors, and peers
- ability to work with a diverse workforce
- strong collaboration and team-work skills
- ability to lead and manage a team in changing environments with multiple priorities
