Job Summary
Oversee daily maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all facility structures, grounds, and equipment, including buildings, greenhouses, shade structures, irrigation systems, and yard infrastructure. Develop preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime, coordinate outside contractors for repairs and landscaping, and manage the facilities budget while tracking expenses. Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety regulations, supervise staff through hiring and performance management, and respond to emergencies like water leaks or HVAC failures. Conduct regular site walkthroughs to address hazards and maintain accurate records of maintenance activity and equipment history. Manage capital improvement projects from planning through completion and collaborate with Operations and Safety leadership on process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or building operations, including supervisory experience.
- Working knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and irrigation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage vendors and contractors and to read and evaluate bids and invoices.
- Strong leadership, staffing, and team development skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in facilities management, construction management, or a related field.
- Experience in an agricultural, nursery, or wholesale distribution environment.
- Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills or the ability to effectively communicate with facilities staff.
