Job Summary
Conduct general cleaning of office buildings, classrooms, lecture halls, and common areas including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and trash removal. Operate equipment such as carpet extractors, floor buffers, and commercial laundry machines. Manage snow and ice removal during winter months. Lead a team of custodial workers under the Coordinator of Housekeeping, maintaining inventory records and inspecting compliance with standards. Ensure regular, reliable attendance and foster harmonious working relationships.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to effectively communicate to be able to perform job duties
- At least one year of experience in housekeeping
- Valid Driver's License in good standings
- At least one year of leadership experience
- Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance
- Ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others
- Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures
- Knowledge of custodial and maintenance practices and techniques
- Knowledge of materials and equipment used in custodial and maintenance work
- Knowledge of the operation and maintenance requirements of commercial laundry equipment
- Ability to maintain adequate supplies and inventory records
- Ability to prepare written documents
- Ability to conduct inspections to determine compliance with standards
- Ability to lead a staff of custodial workers and semi-skilled maintenance repairmen
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages, verbally
- At least three years of experience in housekeeping
- At least two years supervisory or leadership experience
