Job Summary
Conduct general cleaning of office buildings, classrooms, lecture halls, and common areas, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and equipment operation. Perform snow and ice removal during winter months. Assist the Coordinator of Housekeeping by leading a team of custodial workers and semi-skilled maintenance repairmen. Maintain adequate supplies and inventory records while conducting inspections to ensure compliance with standards. Lead a staff of custodial workers and semi-skilled maintenance repairmen. Ensure regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance. Foster collegial, harmonious working relationships. Shift runs from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to effectively communicate to be able to perform job duties
- At least one year of experience in housekeeping
- Valid Driver's License in good standings
- At least one year of leadership experience
- Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance
- Ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others
- Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures
- Knowledge of custodial and maintenance practices and techniques
- Knowledge of materials and equipment used in custodial and maintenance work
- Ability to maintain adequate supplies and inventory records
- Ability to prepare written documents
- Ability to conduct inspections to determine compliance with standards
- Ability to lead a staff of custodial workers and semi-skilled maintenance repairmen
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages, verbally
- At least three years of experience in housekeeping
- At least two years supervisory or leadership experience
