Job Summary
Facilities Maintenance & Welding Technician responsible for a broad range of facility maintenance with 70–80% general maintenance (mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, basic electrical) and 20–30% welding/fabrication. Responsibilities include performing day-to-day maintenance, executing preventive maintenance and responding to work orders for building systems and equipment, inspecting facilities for issues, supporting operation and upkeep of critical systems (HVAC, generators, UPS, fire/life safety), performing welding and light fabrication (MIG, TIG, stick, plasma cutting) to repair or modify equipment, interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors, tracking work using IWMS or similar systems, and participating in on-call rotation with adherence to safety protocols (PPE and LOTO). This role emphasizes hands-on, independent work in a corporate automotive-related environment with growth opportunities and ongoing training/certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in facility maintenance, building trades, or industrial maintenance environments (primary requirement)
- Active welding certification required (MIG, TIG, stick, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated ability to perform general maintenance tasks across multiple trades (plumbing, carpentry, drywall, etc.)
- Experience with welding/fabrication in a repair or maintenance context (not production-only)
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documents
- Familiarity with building systems (HVAC, generators, UPS)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working independently in a hands-on environment
- Basic computer skills and experience with work order systems preferred
Desired Qualifications
