Job Summary

Perform repairs and maintenance on facilities, fixtures, and furniture using hand and portable power tools. Replace drywall, tile, and floors; paint walls and woodwork. Install and repair lighting, hanging boards, and doors while performing minor electrical work. Execute plumbing duties by inspecting, installing, and replacing pipes, fittings, and fixtures to maintain compressed air, water, gas, and drainage systems. Identify needed supplies and requisition materials. Move furniture, files, and equipment between locations. Complete all duties in compliance with standard operating and safety procedures. Requires two years of prior facilities maintenance experience and a high school diploma or GED.

Required Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • 5 years work equivalency
  • Minimum of two years prior facilities maintenance training and experience
  • A working knowledge of facilities, furniture, plumbing and fixture repair
  • Skill in operating associated tools
  • Fluent English skills
  • Ability to communicate with supervisors and others
  • Ability to maintain various routine records
  • Ability to stand, walk and perform physical labor for most of the working shift
  • Ability to pull, push, squat, etc. to accomplish repairs
  • Ability to intermittently lift loads of up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to wear a uniform, hair net, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, dust mask, respirator, protective gloves and back support, as necessary
  • Ability to perform this job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices
