Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Conduct daily building inspections, complete preventive maintenance and repairs, and install building equipment across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC trades. Respond to emergency maintenance situations and resolve issues under the guidance of a senior technician or supervisor. Operate a department vehicle, follow safety policies, and maintain clean work areas while documenting all tasks. Assist less experienced technicians and support a professional workplace culture through integrity and accountability. Work the third shift with a 40-hour schedule; overtime and on-call requirements may vary based on operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years' experience in general maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid OSHA 10-hour General Industry Safety and Health card
- Demonstrated competence in carpentry
- Demonstrated competence in electrical
- Demonstrated competence in plumbing
- Demonstrated competence in HVAC/R
- Valid State of Ohio driver license
Desired Qualifications
- Associates/technical degree or certificate in skilled trades/maintenance related field
- Basic understanding of university building design standards (BDS) related to the maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment
- Basic understanding of the capital project process as managed by FOD Design and Construction
