Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of 10 commercial properties by performing preventive, routine, and emergency repairs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems. Troubleshoot issues independently, conduct regular inspections for safety and code compliance, and respond promptly to tenant requests. Coordinate contractors and vendors for specialized work while maintaining accurate logs and inventory levels. Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies. Requires 10–15 years of experience and hands-on skills for working indoors and outdoors in all seasons.
Required Qualifications
- 10–15 years of experience in commercial construction, commercial property maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related field
- Strong hands-on knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building systems
- Proven ability to troubleshoot problems and complete repairs independently
- Experience supporting multiple commercial properties or locations
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize work based on urgency and impact
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while knowing when to involve outside vendors or internal partners
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with a professional approach to working with tenants, contractors, and vendors
- Commitment to maintaining safe, clean, and well-maintained properties
- The ability to perform the physical requirements of the position safely and effectively is essential
- Requires accurate hand-eye coordination, finger dexterity, and sufficient hand strength to grasp, lift, push, and pull
- Requires frequent climbing, twisting, bending, squatting, and kneeling, including for extended periods
- May lift and carry parts and materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to safely ascend and descend ladders and/or scaffolding
- Must be comfortable working around and operating in areas with heavy equipment and machinery
- Must be able to work safely in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions
