Job Summary

Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, dormitories, classrooms, and common areas, completing work orders promptly. Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems while conducting inspections and maintaining logs. Manage grounds upkeep including snow removal, landscaping, and fencing, and operate tools and vehicles safely. Respond to maintenance emergencies and participate in after-hours or on-call duties as assigned. Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire safety, Joint Commission, and state licensing standards in a residential treatment environment serving adolescents.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and work overhead
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment, power tools, and vehicles
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or respond to emergency maintenance situations
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Ability to report to work as scheduled
  • Ability to complete assigned maintenance tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to respond appropriately to maintenance emergencies
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation

Desired Qualifications

  • Trade school or vocational training
  • Minimum of two years of experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or a related field
  • Experience in healthcare, residential treatment, education, or commercial facilities
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry
  • Basic knowledge of drywall repair
  • Basic knowledge of painting
  • Basic knowledge of general construction
  • Ability to troubleshoot maintenance problems
  • Ability to prioritize multiple work orders
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Basic computer skills for work order tracking and email communication
