Job Summary
Facility Maintenance Technician I at Cadence, on-site in Staunton, VA, supporting day-to-day maintenance, repair, and facility functionality. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnosing and repairing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and building systems; basic carpentry and painting; equipment maintenance; safety inspections and compliance; and effective communication with managers, occupants, and contractors. Requires hands-on, mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and independent work style with 1+ year of maintenance experience, ability to read technical documents, and proficiency with basic computer and CMMS tools. Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00pm–11:00pm with 7% differential; hourly pay with potential overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in general facility maintenance, building systems, or related technical work
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance practices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read technical documents, schematics, or maintenance instructions
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Basic computer proficiency including email and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience using work order systems or CMMS software preferred
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance instructions
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs; wear PPE
