Job Summary
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on campus facilities, including basic plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, and commercial refrigeration systems. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues to determine if repairs can be completed in-house or require specialized contractors. Respond to and complete daily maintenance work orders in a timely manner while utilizing mobile apps to track progress and log tasks. Execute construction projects involving framing, drywall installation, painting, tile setting, and concrete finishing, as well as small-scale demolition. Maintain the cleanliness and safety of campus grounds, walkways, and parking areas through exterior cleaning and debris removal. Strictly adhere to all OSHA safety guidelines and PPE requirements while working both indoors and outdoors across nearly every type of facility on the company's premises.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5–7 years of proven experience in facilities maintenance, commercial construction, or property management
- Broad understanding of basic trade skills (carpentry, drywall, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration principles)
- Basic digital literacy
- Ability to use smartphones, tablets, or computers to manage digital work orders and review timecards
- Valid state Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Ability to regularly lift, push, pull, or move up to 55 pounds independently
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to complete simple math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) accurately
- Strong ability to listen, understand, and take direction
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, electrical diagrams/schematics, operating instructions, and work orders
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Excellent common-sense problem-solving skills
- Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and troubleshoot issues involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
