Facilities Maintenance Technician - Commercial

Job Summary
Maintain commercial facility condition, appearance, and functionality by performing general maintenance and repairs across buildings, equipment, and systems. Inspect structures and vehicles, document findings, and conduct preventive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operation. Review daily priorities with management, coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized work, and perform occasional cleaning and inventory tasks. Use manuals and blueprints to determine repair methods while identifying hazards and following safety procedures with required PPE. Complete work professionally with minimal disruption, occasionally lifting up to 70 pounds and working at heights. Forklift certification is required or obtainable through on-site training.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate, GED, or equivalent education
- Ability to pass a drug, or other related, screenings
- Valid unexpired driver's license
- Experience in related trades/ field
- General knowledge of building systems, materials, basic construction methods for both interior and exterior work
- Ability to read blueprints, building plans, and repair manuals
- Experience using hand tools and power tools safely to complete routine repairs and maintenance tasks
- Forklift Certified or ability to obtain forklift certification through provided on-site training
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organization and housekeeping skills
- Knowledge of, or prior experience, with computers
- Ability to use a workstation using computer/phone
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear and see
- Will involve utilizing hands and being around mechanical parts
- Regularly required to move around the facility
- Work may involve bending, stooping, walking on ladders, roofs, walkways/catwalks (may involve heights)
- May involve being in a safety harness or other PPE
- Exposure to elements: cold, heat, wet, and/or dark
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant experience, training, or certifications in one or more building trades
- Experience using a forklift
