Job Summary
Facilities maintenance technician responsibilities include performing semi-skilled building maintenance and repair (changing ballasts and light bulbs, toilet repairs, patching sheetrock and tiles, basic painting), exterior grounds maintenance (power washing, snow/ice removal, salt/de-icer application), general cleaning and upkeep, routine inspections and record-keeping, and adherence to safety policies. Requires a HS diploma or GED and 1–3 years of full-time work experience in related areas; valid NY driver's license with reliable transportation; ability to operate cleaning and basic repair tools and equipment; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; strong attention to detail and self-management; first shift. Knowledge of ISO quality processes and Syteline MIS system is referenced; role includes teamwork and following company policies.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- 1 to 3 years of full-time experience (or part-time equivalent) in general building construction, cleaning buildings, building maintenance, or repair work
- Valid Driver's license subject to NYS DMV license check and have own transportation to drive to various company buildings in East Syracuse
- Able to handle equipment such as floor cleaning machine, mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners; use basic tools like hammer, wrench, etc.
- Able to understand simple oral and written direction and interpret work orders
- Possesses mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic tools
- Attention to detail; motivated to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision; good time management
