Facilities Maintenance Specialist -Multi Site (Up to 90% Travel)

Job Summary

Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment across multiple Ashley Furniture facilities. Perform regular inspections to identify hazards, execute repairs to minimize downtime, and maintain building exteriors to company brand standards. Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs, manage work orders via Corrigo, and generate analytics on facility performance and costs. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA and ADA requirements, while responding promptly to emergency situations. Support facility improvement projects, renovations, and equipment installations with minimal disruption to store operations. Manage operating and capital budgets, validate invoices, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Requires valid driver's license, willingness to travel with overnight stays, and ability to work in retail, warehouse, and manufacturing environments.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive facilities or maintenance experience in retail, manufacturing, distribution, or commercial environments
  • Strong working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and OSHA requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Corrigo, FMX, or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance principles and asset management best practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate across all organizational levels
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record and reliable transportation for travel between facilities
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform maintenance tasks requiring standing, bending, and climbing
  • Willingness to travel within assigned territory with overnight stays; minimum of two site visits per year for each location in the assigned territory
  • May require occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call availability to respond to facilities emergencies

Desired Qualifications

  • Technical certification or associate degree in facilities management, building maintenance, or related field
  • Experience working across multiple facilities or locations
  • Technical certification or vocational training in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or related field
  • HVAC certification or EPA certification
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
  • Experience with building management systems (BMS) and building automation technologies
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Facilities Management Professional (FMP) certification
  • Experience in multi-site retail facilities management
  • Forklift certification
  • Familiarity with retail or warehouse facility operations
  • Knowledge of energy management, sustainability initiatives, and green building practices
  • Familiarity with construction project management and contractor coordination
  • Knowledge of fire protection systems, security systems, and life safety equipment
