Job Summary
Develop and follow a weekly and annual maintenance schedule for the Bellingham Corps, Social Services, and Officer's Quarters. Keep all facilities, grounds, and vehicles clean and organized through daily cleaning, restocking, and minor repairs. Maintain exterior landscaping, parking lots, and walkways while ensuring all electrical systems, air filters, and safety protocols remain operational. Set up and tear down event equipment as needed and report any accidents or supply issues immediately to supervisors. Perform weekly food bank pickups and drive assigned vehicles including vans, buses, and a refrigerated truck. Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with some flexibility based on task requirements.
Required Qualifications

- 1 year of custodial work experience

- Ability and willingness to keep information confidential
- Demonstrated knowledge of how to work with and apply cleaning products
- Demonstrated knowledge of how to work with power tools, handheld shop tools and garden tools
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical repair and maintenance
- Ability and willingness to record hours worked by clocking arrival, departure, and meal times on timeclock tablet
- Must have a valid Washington State Driver's license
- Ability to pass Motor Vehicle background check
- Ability to pass in-house driving test
- Must complete and adhere to child safety (Protecting the Mission) requirements and guidelines
- Ability to pass a TSA background check
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as boxes, tables, and reach overhead
- Ability to operate telephone
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time on a hard surface
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment and remain productive during a variety of weather conditions including but not limited to heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. repetitively
- Ability to understand written information
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle, including ride-on lawnmower
- Ability to operate power tools and hand-held shop & gardening tools
- Ability to work around, handle, and apply standard cleaning products, paints, and gardening chemicals (using basic safety materials such as gloves and mask)
- Must abide by all policies and procedures as set forth in The Salvation Army Handbook
