Job Summary
Perform routine inspections of facility infrastructure, building systems, and equipment to identify maintenance requirements. Complete preventative maintenance activities and troubleshoot repairs on lighting, doors, plumbing fixtures, HVAC components, and general facility equipment. Execute basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical repairs while responding promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations. Maintain accurate records, coordinate with third-party contractors, and safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment. Assist in waste reduction, recycling, and energy conservation programs while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environments
- Proven experience performing preventative maintenance and general facility repairs
- Experience with basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical maintenance activities
- Demonstrated experience operating forklifts in an industrial environment
- Ability to maintain accurate records, work orders, and maintenance documentation
- Well developed problem solving skills
- Self-motivated and dependable who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
- Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment and perform physically demanding maintenance tasks
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Facilities Maintenance, Building Operations, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, or a related field is considered an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Hands-on with strong mechanical aptitude
- Professional and customer-service oriented when interacting with employees, contractors, and other third parties
