Job Summary
Warehouse Maintenance Engineer at Sherburn-in-Elmet will maintain, repair, and improve a wide range of warehouse equipment and facilities to minimise downtime and ensure safe operation. You’ll work closely with Operations and Health & Safety teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, supporting automated systems (conveyors, goods-to-person retrieval, packing systems), and maintaining maintenance records. The role emphasizes fault-finding, safety compliance, and opportunities for equipment improvements, with a focus on safety, quality, and teamwork in a warehouse/distribution setting.
Required Qualifications
- Essential: Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within a warehouse, distribution or industrial environment
- Essential: Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Essential: Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements in an operational setting
- Essential: Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Desirable: Mechanical or electrical engineering qualification
- Desirable: Experience with conveyors, automation or warehouse systems
- Desirable: Multi-skilled (mechanical and electrical) background
- Desirable: CompTIA A+ entry level IT certification
- Desirable: Experience working with CMMS systems
- Desirable: IPAF licence and PASMA qualification
