Job Summary
Conduct janitorial, sanitation, and waste management duties to ensure strict FDA compliance and a safe environment for employees. Clean restrooms, general and non-production floors using scrubbers and buffers, and maintain the lunchroom before and after breaks. Emptish trashcans, replace restroom supplies, perform basic drain cleaning, and assist facility maintenance with exterior grounds and debris removal. Maintain inventories of janitorial supplies and advise the Facilities Manager on re-ordering needs. Dry mop production department offices and move office furniture as directed. Work a 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM shift, standing for 10 hours and lifting 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing facility or similar operation in a janitor / custodian capacity
- Must know how to operate multi cleaning machines such as scrubbers, buffers, polishers and other cleaning equipment necessary to maintain a clean and healthy work environment
- Must have experience in performing minor facility repairs as necessary to maintain a clean and healthy work environment
- High School Diploma/Certificate; one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must understand how to read, write and speak English to be able to communicate with other department managers and supervisors for their janitorial needs
- Must be able to follow manufacturing instructions when mixing cleaning and other chemicals necessary to perform, clean and repair functions in the facility
- Ability to read and understand SDS, use appropriate PPE as required, and maintain cleaning tools
- Must be able to stand for 10 hours and able to lift 50lbs
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment necessary to meet FDA standards for cleanliness and a healthy work environment
