Facilities Inspector

Job Summary
Perform thorough facility inspections of assigned OPSB buildings to ensure compliance with lease requirements and federal, state, and local guidelines. Monitor maintenance needs, communicate corrective action plans to charter operators, and conduct follow-up inspections to verify remediation. Oversee small capital projects, including modifications and construction, by developing execution schedules, identifying risks, and coordinating with contractors to avoid scheduling conflicts. Measure contractor performance, provide updates to the Director of Facilities, and support state and local board reporting. Serve on the first responder team for emergencies. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering, or five years of related experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or relevant discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience related to construction, maintenance, or facility operations
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Access (or other equivalent database experience)
- Advanced understanding of local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to ownership of public educational facilities (i.e. AHERA, ADA, OSHA, etc.)
- Excellent written and oral communications
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Excellent conflict resolution and consensus building skills
- Must be able to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.)
- Must be able to exert physical effort in handling objects more than 30 pounds rarely
- Must be able to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals) rarely
- Must be able to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements rarely
