Job Summary
Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including air handlers, chillers, and rooftop units. Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning filters, inspecting equipment, and checking refrigerant levels while diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults. Troubleshoot system malfunctions using specialized tools, test and balance systems for optimal performance, and maintain accurate records of all activities. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, OSHA standards, and appliance regulations. Perform emergency repairs promptly and explain procedures to customers. Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs., travel out of state for emergency tickets, and hold Universal EPA certification.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in HVAC technology or related field
- 2+ years of experience as an HVAC technician
- Strong background in installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems
- Universal EPA certification
- Class E Drivers License
- Must be able to lift, move, and maneuver heavy equipment and components weighing up but not limited to 100 lbs.
- Must be able to travel out of state with limited notice for emergency tickets
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in HVAC technology or related field preferred
- Additional certifications (e.g., NATE, R-410A)
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including design, installation, and troubleshooting
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in a fast-paced environment, including climbing, lifting, and working at heights
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to learn new software
- Organizational skills
- Positive attitude; patient and flexible
- Ability to work in a high-pressure atmosphere
- Ability to prioritize requests on a regular basis
- Proficient MS Office skills including Outlook, Excel and Word
- Knowledge of basic building systems and components
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
