Job Summary
Facilities Engineer responsible for Burlingame site maintenance, utilities (electrical, compressed air, HVAC, exhaust, specialty gases, fire protection systems), building envelope and architectural components, and leading/participating in inspections and safety culture. Supports day-to-day prototype development activities and plays a key role in supporting build-out, expansion, and operational readiness of Peak Energy’s future Sacramento manufacturing facility. You will own site maintenance, utilities, and building systems, act as primary site contact for regulatory/HJ inspections, coordinate preventive and repair maintenance, develop written procedures and standards, support material handling and process equipment hosting, and assist with site upgrades and contractor coordination. Requires an Associate degree or equivalent trade experience with 5+ years of facility maintenance, forklift certification, and strong safety/compliance mindset.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree (or equivalent trade or craftwork experience) in a technical discipline and 5+ years of facility maintenance experience preferably in a lab, technology or manufacturing.
- Forklift operator certification or ability to achieve within 30 days.
- Knowledge of industry safety and equipment reliability best practices.
- General maintenance/repair/troubleshooting experience with utility and infrastructure support equipment such as pumps, compressors, chillers, inert gas distribution, HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution/implementation.
- Structured problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Rapid learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work and complete assigned tasks with minimal oversight.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and driving positive environmental impact through technology innovation.
