Facilities Engineer Intermediate

Job Summary

Conduct engineering and construction integration for facility planning, design, and real property acquisition across multiple sites. Analyze tasking requirements to establish mechanical and electrical scopes, develop Plan of Action and Milestones documents, and coordinate with design agents and external personnel. Support systems engineering reviews, project change management, and acquisition processes while briefing customers and finalizing engineering reports. Travel up to 50% of the time, including CONUS, OCONUS, and international deployments, to oversee equipment systems integration and site activation. Assist with developing policies for site sustainment and mentoring junior staff within the Missile Defense Agency's lifecycle management contract.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • at least 7+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • A M.E. or M.S. degree (ABET-accredited) in engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in any U.S. state
  • Secret clearance, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening
  • Travel up to 50% of the time, CONUS, OCONUS, and international
  • Flexibility to travel/deploy to customer sites for up to 30-40 days at a time, and up to 2-3 times per year. This includes both U.S. and international sites.

Desired Qualifications

  • Capable of providing engineering support for planning, design, construction, and maintenance/sustainment of the physical and natural environments, and the administrative and mission facilities and infrastructure of the MDA
  • Possess technical and engineering theoretical knowledge for an engineering discipline
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree
  • Experience with MDA and DoW construction projects
  • Experience with USACE, NAVFAC, and AFCEC projects
  • Project management during site deployment to include construction, master schedules, budget, and configuration management
  • Facility equipment control systems, including design, acquisition, installation, checkout, and commissioning
  • Construction scheduling, scheduling software, and schedule analysis tools
  • Developing policies, plans, processes, procedures, and guidance for site activation, system deployment, and site sustainment practices
  • Developing and implementing program activities; coordinating efforts of multiple stakeholders, prime contractors, subcontractors, and support service personnel
  • Developing acquisition plans and supporting procurement actions and scopes of work
  • Experience mentoring junior-level staff members
  • Ability to review Architect/Engineer (A/E) facility design plans, specifications and contract documents as needed for various facilities
  • Capable of working as a team member to solve complex engineering problems
  • Expertise in execution of facility engineering and environmental policies, studies, and analysis
  • Expertise in on-site construction management to include interaction with construction contractors and owner's representatives
  • Ability to operate independently and lead various working groups in support of facility projects
  • Required software knowledge includes Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
