Job Summary

Ensure all mechanical systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental laws. Develop and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to optimize system performance and longevity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, civil, structural, and R&D engineers on facility projects. Prepare technical reports, specifications, and scope of work for repairs, upgrades, and new installations. Manage external contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure quality and EHS standards. Monitor the department budget related to mechanical systems maintenance and projects. Maintain accurate records of system maintenance, inspections, and modifications. Prepare reports on system performance and compliance for management and audits. This role is 100% onsite at an optics manufacturing plant in the Philippines, potentially involving rotating shifts, overtime, or on-call duties.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • Valid PRC license
  • 4-6 years hands-on experience in facilities or mechanical engineering
  • Experience in semiconductor or electronics environments
  • Experience with maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of basic to moderate mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of cleanroom standards (ISO, SEMI standards)
  • Experience with quality and sustainability management systems
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, OSHA, local building codes)
  • Experience with project management or leading small-medium projects
  • Proven project management and leadership skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, with critical thinking and business mindsets, effective communication, and organizational abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, process piping, and specialized equipment used optical manufacturing facilities or semiconductor
  • Knowledge of skilled trades such as performing safety-related functions; maintaining and using tools and equipment; performing measuring and layout; and performing cutting and welding operations
  • Knowledge of mechanical components and systems such as services shafts, bearings and seals, services chain and belt drive systems and services gear systems
  • Knowledge of material handling/process systems such as fans/blowers, compressor, boiler, pumps (centrifugal/magnetic) and process tanks with agitators
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum systems
  • 100% onsite work
  • Availability for rotating shifts, overtime, or on-call duties to support 24/7 operations and emergency repairs
  • Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, goggles, gloves, and respirators

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge on Lean Six Sigma and experience on using the methodologies
